The whole of the moon...

Tonight  ♥

 ♥ There's a moon out tonight...

(as well as a cat)...  ♥

This morning...

The sunshine glints off towerblock windows, reflecting the colour of the autumn leaves below...

Strange happenings... 11.11.11

I spotted these balloons^ on the beach when I was walking to work yesterday...
and when I arrived at work this morning, this was outside my office (below)

One of my clients asked if it was my birthday, as they had spotted the balloons outside - well it isn't my birthday, but today would have been my Grannie's 100th birthday...
It seems significant at the moment as I found a white feather yesterday, today is 11.11.11 and I wrote the following poem around the time she died...
(an unexpected white feather is said to be a sign of a visit from an angel)

This morning...

Seagulls glide through lifeless grey sky, screeching like fishwives,
as they mirror the white-capped ripples relentlessly clinging to dull grey sea...

This evening...

Street Spirit...

The last traces of daylight clung to the streetlights in the alleyway,
desperate to not fade out...

Pavement...

The spray paint man hovers in a two dimesional world on the promenade by the sea;
just a few feet away from where the air-sea rescue took place,
last week...

This afternoon...

A pair of wagtails wade round the edge of a muddy puddle,
accompanied by the sound of waves lapping against the wall...

This morning...

The dreary darkness faded and gave way to the pale pink blush creeping across the horizon...

Slow down...

The rush hour traffic hurtles forward,
cutting through the grey with headlights blazing like wolves' eyes;
the taillights of the car in front, their prey.

(Ok, I know there's no traffic in the photo - I was trying to capture the grey...)

The Writing on the Wall...

The second photo is where the Get Carter car park used to be...

I'm loving the lomo-effect function on my new phone - some people hate it, but I like it - mainly because although I love, love, love my analogue cameras, I feel uneasy about using film now because apparently gelatine is used, and that doesn't fit in with my vegan ethics. Digital cameras bypass the use of film, so that is a plus, although nothing can beat the anticipation of collecting a film that has just been developed... again, that links in nicely with the blog I've just written on my other site, where I look at the fact that nowadays we expect things instantly, rather than waiting patiently...
Digital cameras v analogue?? hmm... 'Perfection' v 'imperfection'?? ...
Sometimes (often?) old, vintage, mistakes and imperfections win hands down, and are well worth waiting for...
(but on the other hand, that doesn't resolve the gelatine issue...) hmm...

Anyway, I'll stop rambling as it is evidently time for bed now...

8 days a week...

I could do with finding an extra day a week from somewhere, as I just don't seem to have enough hours in a day at the moment... (or maybe I just need to drastically improve my time management skills, & also reduce the time I spend being distracted by things on the internet!... ) I've just updated my other blog (http://abcounselling.blogspot.com/) and thought I would do a quick post here too, as I've got photos bursting at the seams of my laptop that I need to sort out, so I thought I'd pop a couple or so on here...

I've had a good few days - went to two different sessions at the Sage as part of the 'free thinking festival' on Saturday, and finally got round to trying out Bob Trollop's, a veggie/vegan pub on the Quayside, too. We were impressed (me & Iona). I'll maybe write more about the Sage things if I find time at some point in the future...Sunday was a beautiful bright & sunny but cold day, so I went for a wander round Tynemouth.

Monday brought the first frost of this autumn, and again I took myself off for another little wander - this time at the Rising Sun. All in all, I'm feeling really satisfied and content with life at the moment and all it has to offer...
